Privacy notice
How this website, and a hire from us, handles your information. It is short because we do very little with it.
Who we are
This is the website of Squires Group Limited, trading as Squires Plant Hire, company number 12742592, registered office Bramblewood, Hurn, Christchurch BH23 6AT. For anything about your information, ring 07788 288137 or email hire@squiresplant.co.uk.
What this site collects
When you request a quote we collect your name, phone number, email address, site postcode, the number of days and, if you give them, your company, start date and a message. Nothing else on the site asks you for anything. The quote list you build is stored only in your own browser until you send it.
Why we collect it
To price and arrange the hire you asked about. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running a hire business. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell your information.
Who else is involved
Vercel hosts this site and provides the visitor measurement described below. Resend delivers the emails your request generates, and Google hosts the spreadsheet the hire desk uses to keep track of requests. Cloudflare runs the bot check on the quote form, which sends your IP address and browser details to Cloudflare for that check only. If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp under their own terms. We do not share your information with anyone else, except as described in the next section when you go on to hire.
When you hire from us
If you go on to hire, we hold what the hire needs: your quote and booking confirmation, the hire note signed at handover and return, the photographs we take of the machine at those points, a note of the identification we checked, and the site address. Our lawful basis is performing the contract with you. We take no card payments. You pay our invoice by bank transfer, so we hold the payer name and reference that our bank shows with the payment. If a machine is lost or stolen we may pass your details to the police or our insurer, and if a sum is unpaid, to a debt recovery firm.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without following you to other websites, and Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how fast pages load, also without cookies.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for 24 months from our last contact with you. If you would rather we deleted yours sooner, ask and we will. Records of a hire, including the hire note, photographs and payment records, are kept for six years after the hire ends, because tax law and the limitation period for claims require it, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it, using the contact details above. If you are not happy with how we respond, you can complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.
